“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.” Acts 19:13-16

The reason why the seven sons of Sceva were rubbished is because they were only using the name of Jesus without the presence of Jesus in them

The exact summary of a life without Jesus will be what happened in verse 16  of that Acts 19 (naked and wounded)

===> The name of Jesus will be praised for ever, in the name of Jesus

* Jesus Christ came in form of flesh so he won’t be taken for demon

• The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father in the last days according to Acts 2:17, Joel 2:28.

• God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit: All these three are knitted together as the Holy Trinity

– Without possessing the three in one is like the seven sons of Sceva.

– You can’t separate the three; you say, “you have God and that settles it?” but the three are one

• Without the power of the Holy Spirit, there is no authority. Without Jesus, there is no Holy Spirit indeed and without God as well, there is no connection with Jesus

– Knowing Jesus is far different from encountering Him
– Knowing Jesus without having Him will create no space for the Holy Spirit

• It is important to note that the Trinity are connected and cannot be separated. Colo. 2:9

===> I pray that Jesus will become real to you in Jesus’ name

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE/EXCENSE OF JESUS IN WHAT WE DO?
1. Jesus is the perfection of God’s glory. Heb. 1:13
2. Jesus is the perfection of God’s presence in us
3. Jesus is the invisible manifestation of God Himself.
4. Jesus is the transcending of a higher physical authority
5. Delivered among people, He has come to deliver.

• The Holy Spirit teaches and instruct us on many things but if we despise Jesus, he won’t again

BIBLICAL EVENTS/CIRCUMSTANCES THAT NEEDED DIVINE INTERVENTION
(Examples of Some People Who Tried To Help Themselves Then Jesus Came To Their Lives)
1. Peter: (Perfect example) a highly skilled fisherman who was fishing successfully until the career of fishing expired but when Jesus got on the board, his expiry date got restored by Jesus

QUESTIONS TO ASK
i. What do you think you know that Jesus do not know about? So, without Him, we are nothing
ii. Is Jesus inside you or outside you?
iii. Is Jesus in what you are doing or not?

Matthew 8:23-26 (The Miracle of the Calming of the Storm)
– Storms come but have expiry date
– Storms come but there is a reason for it
– Storms come but there is a higher authority for it

• When your prayer life is weak, that means Jesus is asleep like the miracle of the storm
• When your Bible reading is dying, that also means that Jesus is asleep in your boat

2. The woman with the issue of blood tried touching Jesus and He allowed her

3. Jesus prayed and issued command and Lazarus came because He that has the power of Death and Hell came

WHAT CAN LOCK JESUS CHRIST OUT OF A PERSON’S LIFE?
(Ways We Don’t Acknowledge Him as Our Personal Lord and Saviour)
1. SIN
– Sin in the flesh includes; hatred, backbiting, telling lies: Which is a terrible thing
– When you harbor unforgiveness or bitterness; you are locking Jesus out.

2. Prayerlessness will bring darkness into the heart and light does not have anything to do with darkness. (There is nothing we can do about that)

Rev. 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” – This is a benefit of allowing Jesus into our lives

3. Deafened Spiritual Ear: Can’t hear the voice of the Master, Saviour.

4. Locking Jesus out is when we do not have enough Word of God in our heart

• When Jesus is present in our lives, we experience peace, joy, divine directions, strength to stand in the midst of storms.

WHAT TO DO!
1. Do away with all our sins
2. Confess all your sins
3. Ask Jesus to come into your life to possess your life
4. Ask for a new turn of life and He will give you again
5. Let Him be the Master of your life
6. Learn to pray before anything
7. Commit yourself to Him
8. When you praise Him, men will praise you
9. Build up your prayer altar: having effective structures
10. Then, live a clean life: stay away from books that will pollute your life.
11. Try in some ways to evangelize

===> I pray that the Lord will help us now and make all these things more meaningful to us in Jesus’ name

SING:
1. Change my heart O God, make it ever new.
2. Into my heart (X2), Come into my heart, Lord Jesus
3. I cannot do without You (X2) O Lord!

PRAYERS
* Pray to God concerning this message.

2. Power of Death and Hell, hear the Word of the Lord, you cannot kill my destiny, then loose your hold, in the name of Jesus

There was a large group of people gathered. On one side of the group stood a man, Jesus. On the other side stood another, Satan. Seperating them was a fence running through the group. The scene set, both Jesus and Satan began calling to people in the group. One by one, each having made up his or her own mind, went to either Jesus or Satan. This kept going for a time.
